Role Overview
 

We are looking for a passionate and fast-learning Backend Developer Intern to join our tech team. You will help build, maintain, and scale backend services for the Mertrix platform and other internal projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to learn backend development in a modern software environment and contribute to real-world products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing backend APIs and services using Laravel (PHP), Python (Django or FastAPI), or Node.js

  • Support the integration of third-party services and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

  • Participate in daily standups, code reviews, and team sprints

  • Contribute to improving system performance, scalability, and security

  • Debug and troubleshoot backend issues under guidance from senior developers

  • Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to deliver seamless user experiences

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • Basic understanding of server-side languages such as PHP, Python, or JavaScript (Node.js)

  • Familiarity with Laravel, Django, FastAPI, or Express.js is a strong advantage

  • Knowledge of REST APIs, relational databases, and Git version control

  • Eagerness to learn, strong attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset

  • Good communication and team collaboration skills
